휴는 주로 down lighting 기능의 조명이다. 다양하게 각도가 조정 가능하며 상단에 개구부는 은은한 빛을 발사한다.

자유로운 움직임을 제공해서 거실 등의 이상적인 위치에 빛을 설정할 수 있다.

무단계 조광을 15-100% 사이에 빛 밝기 조정이 가능하고 자동으로 조명을 끄는 타이머 기능도 있다.

제품명인 Yuh는 ‘you’의 발음의 형태이다. 조명의 본질적인 특징은 개인적인 것이라는 생각에서 비롯된 디자인이기 때문이다.

빛은 유연하고 작은 공간을 차지하며, 회전, 상승 및 하강 다 가능하다.

원형에서 선으로 만들어지는 최소한의 모양의 디자인을 잘 보여준다.

Living up to the company’s proud heritage could have been a source of anxiety, but Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi actually feel that Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen helped them in arriving at the final result. 

“We are very inspired by the AJ lamp (designed by Arne Jacobsen, Ed.). There is something very striking about its geometry. It is angled, but the shade is designed in such a way that one part of it is always aligned with the floor in one way or another. It is extremely sculptural, but also very geometric.” – Stine Gam says.

Designer GamFratesi

Celebrating Louis Poulsen’s philosophy of designing to shape light and inspired by the classic virtues of Danish design, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, who make up GamFratesi, the most stirring design duo of our time, have designed a lamp dubbed Yuh. GamFratesi was founded in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. They met at the Department of Architecture at the University of Ferrara in Northern Italy in 2004 and have since studied together at the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark. GamFratesi have a studio in Copenhagen.

“Our desire to incorporate a diffuser in the lamp stems from our respect for Poul Henningsen’s studies. And from our appreciation of indirect light. We like the fact that you do not see the light bulb, and are not dazzled. Italian lamp design is often quite the opposite: expressive lamps with bare bulbs. With a diffuser, the light source is concealed, which we think makes the illumination rather magical.” – Stine Gam.
